Origin and History

The Jägers were formed along with the mounted Carabinier company in 1753. The company consisted of roughly 50 men.

The regimental inhaber was Graf Wilhelm von Schaumburg Lippe but the unit was commanded by:

  • 1753 von Buttlar
  • 1760 von Lindau

Service during the War

During the war, the unit was engaged at Bielefeld, Ritterhude, Orlephausen, Gildehaus, Rheinberg, Krefeld, Lutterberg, Lippstadt, Sandershausen, Bergen and Minden.

The unit took part in countless other small actions during the war. It was very active in scouting and skirmish duties.
