The Admiralty and the Ober-surveyor office did not find any advantages in such a frigate but allowed James to build one experimental frigate according to this drawing because he offered to use extra timber left after the construction of the previous frigate. The frigate was built by I. V. James (И. В. Ямес) at the Solombalskaya dockyard in Archangelsk. He had previously reported that he had obtained from his British friends a drawing of the newest frigate with a length of 130 feet, a width of 46 feet, a depth of 14 feet and 26 guns on the gun deck. The Admiralty and the Ober-surveyor office did not find any advantages in such a frigate but allowed James to build one experimental frigate according to this drawing because he offered to use extra timber left after the construction of the previous frigate. The keel was laid down on August 14, 1761 (August 1 old style, abbreviated O.S. in this article). The frigate was launched on May 14 1762 (May 3 O.S.).

During the Seven Years' War, the frigate was under the command of:

The frigate was broken up in Kronshtadt in 1774.

Service during the War

From July to October 1762, the frigate made her first journey from Archangelsk to Kronshtadt.

Characteristics

This frigate was the first built with some deviations from the Table of shipbuilding proportions issued by Peter the Great in 1723.
