Tomb of Themistokles
From Project Athinai
It is believed that some years after his death in exile at Magnesia, the bones of Themistokles were brought back to Athens. A tomb was then erected at the westernmost end of the Akte peninsula, at the entrance of the harbor of Kantharos. It consisted of a three steps platform supporting an unfluted Ionic column.
