Origin and History
In the autumn of 1757, 36 mounted jägers were assembled in Pomerania. On December 19 of the same year, Baron Ungern-Sternberg mandated the Hessian Lieutenant Johann von Schwartzer to raise a squadron of 100 mounted Jägers by the end of April 1758. The small unit of 36 mounted Jägers was incorporated into this squadron.
At the end of 1758, the unit was increased to 2 squadrons of 100 men each.
During the Seven Years' War, the regiment was under the command of:
- since December 19 1758: Major Johan Christoffer von Schwartzer
