Sick and wounded were transported in empty wagons. For an army of 30,000 men, the field-hospital consisted of a personnel of 160 men; nine 6-horse pharmacy-wagons, twelve 4-horse provision-wagons, 33 servants, 116 horses and 4 Schirrmeistern. Permanent hospitals were also present in fortresses.
